NodeLighthouse

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 2026-07-08

NodeLighthouse provides residential proxy access for lawful web data collection — rank tracking, price and market monitoring, ad verification, public-data research, and account management. This policy exists to keep the network usable and trustworthy for everyone on it. It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Permitted use

You may use the Service to:

  • Collect publicly accessible web data, including for SEO/SERP rank tracking, price and market monitoring, and ad verification.
  • Automate lawful browsing, form submission, and testing against systems you are authorized to access.
  • Manage your own accounts on third-party platforms (static-ISP tier) where doing so does not violate applicable law.
  • Conduct academic or journalistic research on publicly available information.

2. Prohibited use

Regardless of plan or tier, you may not use the Service to:

  • Engage in or facilitate any illegal activity, including under the laws of the jurisdiction you operate from or the jurisdiction of any target system.
  • Commit or facilitate fraud of any kind — payment fraud, ad fraud, click fraud, account takeover, or the creation of fraudulent accounts on third-party services.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system, account, or network — including credential stuffing, brute-forcing logins, or exploiting a vulnerability without authorization.
  • Distribute malware, run phishing campaigns, or send unsolicited bulk communications (spam).
  • Launch or contribute to a denial-of-service attack against any system.
  • Access, generate, store, or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits minors. This is zero-tolerance: any confirmed instance results in immediate, permanent termination and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement.
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights, including mass-copying copyrighted content for unauthorized redistribution.
  • Target critical infrastructure, government, or military systems without explicit authorization.
  • Resell or sub-license access to the Service without our prior written authorization.
  • Circumvent rate limits or access controls for the purpose of fraud, attack, or unauthorized access — as distinct from ordinary, lawful automated data collection, which is the Service's intended purpose.

3. Network sourcing & consent

Residential IP addresses routed through NodeLighthouse are sourced through our upstream network partner from participants who have consented to share bandwidth. We require our upstream provider to maintain consent-based sourcing practices as a condition of our reseller relationship.

4. Verification (KYC)

Business and static-ISP tiers require identity verification before provisioning. We may request additional verification for any account at our discretion, particularly where usage patterns suggest a risk of abuse.

5. Enforcement

We investigate reports of misuse and may suspend or terminate access, with or without notice, for any violation of this policy. Where required by law, or in response to a valid legal request, we cooperate with law enforcement. Repeated or severe violations result in permanent termination without refund.

6. Reporting abuse

If you believe NodeLighthouse traffic is being used to violate this policy, contact abuse@nodelighthouse.com with as much detail as you can provide (timestamps, source, and nature of the activity). We investigate every report.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
